Sucess Without the C

by Veronica

edit: Out of boredom I edited/updated the owner content part about me. I figured it was about time I edited it heh.

Thanks for the lovely 40 comments on my new domain, I’m not exactly used to typing in “blissful.nu” yet but hopefully I will soon haha. Glad everyone liked the layout as well, I will return the comments asap.

I think everyone has at least someone from their high school days that “make it big” … or at least try to right? Well mine would be some guys that I went to high school with that are now signed to Virgin Records and are in the band The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. I really only knew one of the guys (somewhat) in high school (also played teaball with him when we were like 5 haha), while one of the other members many fellow students found annoying. Their music isn’t too bad but honestly they sound like everyone else, but I do wish them luck. Good to know there’s at least one success (almost maybe) story from high school I guess haha.

Speaking of success, college is all about your future and blah blah blah. They expect you to become successful in life (or at least try) but yet they put up posters and spell the word “sucess” wrong? This poster has been up in the student center of the college I attend for a while now, and a friend asked me to take a picture of it (which I’ve been meaning to do for a while now). It makes me laugh haha, and the poster is below for your laughing pleasure.

I ended up talking to Chris about the him and I thing last Thursday, although we plan to speak further thisThursday (we talk a lot, well somewhat) since a few concerns and questions on my part have come about in my mind. Basically he told me he didn’t think a relationship would work out long-term wise, and to be honest when he said it I wanted to punch him (infact he thought I would, I think he was shocked that I didn’t. But I am an understanding person I guess) but the more I thought about it the more I realized he was right. I don’t want a relationship with anyone right now anyways, yay for being single and “playing the field”. So him and I shall remain friends (I hope?), and just hang out and what not (although that Thursday we hung out until 6am and we werent even really doing anything, wow time flies by doesn’t it?). So we’ll see how that goes I guess.

I’m finally done with my classes! I was technically done with school on Thursday, but my Internet teacher decided to use the last class day (Tuesday/Today) so students could display their webpages. We had to create a basic webpage for the class, but I presented mine on Thursday. I did mine on male celebs that I fancy, which you can find here which I named Eye Candy. The class liked it, and it gave me a chance to mess around with some image rollovers… which are fun.

Well I’m off to return comments (thanks again) as well as pick the moderators for Despair.nu, which may take a while haha. When does your summer break start? Have any plans yet I’ll be working and hanging out with friends as much as possible.

Ugh, that band sucks but it’s awesome that they went to your high school. But they’ll probably make it big – look at all the other lame bands that made it big, haha.

I’ve been to like, 4 different high schools so I have no idea whos doing what. No one would remember me anyway, lol. Although there are some pretty famous people from my area. (lamer bam margera) but never met any of them. Ahh well.

    xoxo

That’s pretty cool those guys from your school got a record deal :) I volunteered at a college last year and one of the students there got a deal as well and he sang a song during a school concert… he was a really good singer and definitly deserved the deal :)

I’m like the most crap-tastic speller ever. The only way I remember success is from the Simpsons. “S-U-C-C-E-S-S, that’s the way you spell success”

    Eye Candy = nice

School gets out in 29 days for me.

Hm, I’ve never heard of that band before but sometimes I think I live under a rock haha That’s hilarious how they mispelled success, have they noticed yet? That’s setting a great example ;x Guys = mentally retarded, that’s why they should just be kept around for entertainment purposes only harhar Then you end up falling in love with the dumbest of them all, ironic. I’m single.. I think right now.. it’s just a good time to be single, and have fun.. not get stuck in a relationship like you said. but yea, hopefully you guys can still be friends :)

That’s awsome that they got a record deal. Now, if they get like super famous sell-outs, you can get some loans :P

The webpage you made for class is nice. I like the rollovers :)

My summer break is sometime in late June. I don’t know exactly when. I’m still in elementary school.

That bands doesn’t really make my kind of music, and like you said, they sound exactly like every other band out there :/ But still, good luck to them!

Ack, I wish my Summer break would just start already! I still have one month left :/

Yay for breaktime :) Eye Candy looks great – I adore the image rollovers. It’s really neat that you know someone in that band, even if you’re not close or anything. I don’t think I really know anyone who’s gone on to do anything haha

You really are very talented, Naco! Your layout is so pretty and you can draw very well!
I agree, they all sound the same to me xD But the bands in school suck really bad lol.
Sucess, sucess! It’s funny to find spelling errors at some places but even funnier when you find them at educational institutes like tuition centres and colleges!
I prefer being single myself. But maybe after staying friends with Chris for a long time, you’ll become best buddies and then you’ll know each other inside out and then you’ll fall in love with each other! xD
OH your eye candy site is SO cute! lol, the rollovers are super and I see robert pattinson, johnny depp and orlando bloom! Ah, such hotties :D And I agree, accents are lovely :)

I always find people to be envious or spiteful about the people whom they knew back in highschool’s success. You are different and that’s awesome. Sometimes, you feel so good about the success or achievement of someonelse! :)

Being single at this point in my life definitely suits me – I guess that’s just way better than messy relationships with half-hearted commitment.

The Eye Candy page is so nifty, and hey..Depp is featured there! Woot!

My summer break has already started and I’ll be going on a trip to SE Asia and returning right before my exams start. Quite the anti-climax. *sigh*

That poster is pretty funny, I am a terrible speller but if I was making a poster for everyone to see in my school I would make sure someone double checked my words.

That is pretty cool that someone you went to high school went has a record deal. Some old friends of mine have a band and I belive they are being signed onto some label. Check out Rally Car (they have a myspace band site as well) I do hope that your old friends, well aquatiences make it in the music industry.

No one from my class has hit it big yet, but I only graduated a year ago. I kinda doubt any of us will, though. We’re a bunch of losers! lol Maybe I’m prejudiced, though.

I’ve never heard of that band but it’s cool that they came from your school. Butch Walker and The Marvelous 3 came from my area/town! :) I like the Eye Candy site. :)

Spelling success wrongly…well….in my school there were also some girls which signed up with a record company. I saw them everyday in school and suddenly on a poster. That is how life can turn out. But success cannot be predicted or guaranteed…
