Before I get to the title, my friend’s 21st birdthay was Firday and her party was Saturday morning. It was a lot of fun, it was near the beach and the weather was nice but a bit too cold to swim. After that I basically hung around the house since I had Thursday-Sunday off (which I loved!). On Sunday USA Network was playing the entire 7th season of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit there was a case where someone was talking about how people can choose what eye color, hair color, sex, etc they want their child to be. So, here’s my question to you do you think parents should be able to choose how their child will look? For me personally I feel that personally, I would never do that if I were to have a child. I think in some cases, say if the child would be born with certain disabilities or whatever and they could “get rid” of it then okay but as far as wanting your child to have blue eyes instead of brown that’s just odd in my opinion. It’s not something I would do, but if someone wants too then okay.
In other news, I have been in a drawing mood lately and my scanner seems to be working as well. I added a new drawing of Sleeping Beauty to my deviant art account. Also, since my scanner is working now expect A LOT of mag. scans to come (I have so many that I have bought recently so yeah, expect a large update). Also, out of boredom I started creating a few articles on various online related things that I haven’t really seen before so expect those soon as well.
Well, I have a Chemistry test in the morning and I doubt I will do well at all but I should really study before I leave for work at 3. Hope everyone is enjoying school and doing well. I’ll return the comments from the last few blogs tomorrow after my test. Meh, I hate tests haha.

I don’t feel like anyone should choose the characteristics of their child. I mean that’s what makes it them. I agree about the disabilities though, I would definately do that. Though I do say that I wish my mom and dad made me have green eyes instead of brown lol.
Wow! You’re really good at that drawing, I love her eyes and cheeks the most(the shape lol). I wish I could draw..
Good luck on the test!
I’m kind of undecided on the whole ‘designer baby’ thing. Although in reality, I’m sure it’d be a really bad idea, I can’t say I wouldn’t take the opportunity to ensure that my child turned out to be good-looking and intelligent if I was offered it.
I like your drawing :] And good luck on the Chemistry test! I actually have an atomic structure exam on Friday
I don’t think I’d want to choose my baby’s characteristics. I just think choosing what they’ll look like would be really weird and kind of a…control-freak thing to do?
I’m not really morally opposed to it, just…not too fond of it.
Good luck on your chem test!
i think thats kinda messed up to choose the characteristics of your child. totally takes away from the surprise! lol. plus its weird.
good luck on your test! hope you do well!
That picture you drew was beautiful! Good job!
Choosing the baby’s characteristics before he/she’s born totally goes against human nature… the way society functions. I think it’s just wrong.
I have a chem quiz tomorrow hehe… better go and study then!
So you watched the SVU marathon too? I love that show. I sat through almost the whole thing, well, except for the ones I’ve seen a billion times, which I am actually kind of sad to say was a majority of them.
I think it would be alrgiht to genetically alter a child, or choose a child, depending on their disabilities. For example, if you knew a child was going to be born without a vital organ, or with a disease that could cost him/her their life, it would be understandable to try and alter that. In that case, some people would claim “god wanted the child to live like that” or “dont change god’s will” but really, would anyone want a child to live in such pain?
I caught that marathon too. I love law & order SVU it’s actually my favourite out of all of them.
I don’t think parents should be able to choose what their kid looks like. It defeats the purpose of life in general. If we were meant to choose the way our kids looked we would have been doing it forever ya know?
yay for morning parties by the beach!
I”m not sure about the whole choosing how my child would look… I”m still pretty young, so I don’t have to worry about it; but I’m not sure about the whole situation. I really don’t think a person should mess with genetics.
And the Sleeping Beauty picture you drew was so nice!
That’s one of my favourite stories. And yay for scanners working again!
Aw. What a cute drawing. ^_^
I’m not totally against “designing” your baby. Being ugly is a curse. I know all about it. That blue-brown-green eyes thing isn’t really necessary though.
