">Power Outages Suck
December 23rd, 2006 @ 9:45 pm

As I sat innocently at the computer, darkness over took over my kingdom and surrounded all of me. I wandered about and found what was causing this, a horrible creature. So naturally I reached for my trusty weapon to fend of the darkness! With light-sword in hand I charged at the creature of the night only to discover this beast was much more powerful than I had thought.

Okay what actually happened was, I was at the computer working on the clean-up (deleting old members, cleaning out the projects yada yada) at Despair.nu when the power went out. Randomly. I didn’t exactly fight a beast after it happened, but I did find myself holding a flash light so I could read Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince in my room haha. Power was out for about an hour, and about 15-25 minutes after that went out again but this time for only a second. It was raining a lot yesterday and a little today, but I didn’t think it was enough to take the power out. Speaking of Harry Potter (sorda). Anyone hear the title of the 7th book? Do not click read on if you do not want to know. Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows… what? Personally I think Harry Potter & The Happy Dancing Gothic Ponies of Siberia sounds much better. But Rowling thought I was crazy with this suggestion. Actually I think just naming the last book Harry Potter, with no “and the” would have been great too. I’ve been doing some research on the title itself, and I have come to some of my own ideas as to why it is called that but I’ll save that babble for another blog

Hope everyone is having a nice holiday as well! I would have blogged sooner, but I was so busy with work and trying to find a new apartment when I move, as well as doing the clean-up thing for Despair.nu which is going very well. Depending on when you are reading this, what did you receive this year as a holiday gift? I opened my presents on Friday (celebrated it early with my mother, sister, and my sister’s husband since my mother is going out of town to visit family on Christmas day but I am not). My favorite gift is my new shiny digital camera, I love it. I’ll take pictures of the gifts over the next few days, still need to exchange gifts with friends too.

My Pirate Party with my friends is this Friday, and I still need to buy decorations too! Oh, last blog I mentioned going to Tally mid-December for more apartment hunting. Well myself and Becca found a place and signed the lease already! We will be living in a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with a fully furnished kitchen, washer/dryer,high-speed internet, cable w/ hbo, and this is all included in a bill of $450 per person. It’s a really nice place, and RIGHT next to the FSU stadium so yay for being able to walk to class!

My last day at my current job is Wednesday (the 27th), and apparently the administrtor made an announcement to the residents who live there. So of course all I keep hearing is “Aww we’re going to miss you! You are so nice” blah blah blah, it’s nice and all and a nice ego-boost but still.

Going to finish cleaning up the review area of Despair. The memberlist is going to take me the longest though, which is something I’ll be doing over the next few days. HAPPY HOLIDAYS! On the way to my sister’s house Friday, I took lots of pictures of random thins (mainly lights) so expect a lot more light textures over the day or so.

Power outages suck. It sucks even more when they come back, and you turn on the computer again only for the power to be cut off again.

Oh I read about that Pirate party theme you were planning on having on EMB and do post pictures of your costume and stuff! Haha!

Last but not least, Merry Christmas, Veronica! I hope you have a great one!

    Have a Happy Christmas!!
It seems like everything is going great so far! Congrats on the great apartment (smart choice of location ;] ) and the new digital camera! I can’t wait to get one myself.

It sucks when the powers out, but it always feels good to have an unexpected brek. No matter how frustrating! lol

    I hope you have Friday!
Take LOTS of pictures! I’ve already bookmarked place =D

    Felicidad and Happy Holidays!!

I would like to hear your assumptions on why JKR named the last book like that. I”m blah.. dunno it doesn’t look HP-ish to me. Gawd, I’m such a HP geek xP

merry christmas! oh i know, the new title sounds very strange but that just makes it more interesting. it would be weird not naming the last book ‘and the’ since the other 6 had them.

everyone seems to be getting a digital camera. haha i wanted one this year but my parents decided they already gave me enough so all i got was lousy gift cards to dumb stores XD

Pirate Party? haha cool. and is 450 cheap per person for an apartment?

    where are you working afterward?

WOW – power outages seem to be everywhere lately. The weather’s been so bad that the power’s been going out a lot in my area as well. Thankfully I live a few blocks from the local hospital so our power hasn’t gone out once this year – so far. *lol* It pays to be on the same power grid as a hospital! XD

(from Exentrique) I love the way you started your entry! It was great! I’ve been lucky, our power hasn’t gone out during any of the wind storms here on the west coast of north america. Atleast you did have a flash light though. Books save the day!

Nice to hear when anyone gets something great for christmas :) Digital Camera’s are so much fun!!! My favorite gift was the necklace I got from my boyfriend. Happy Holidays!

I heard something about the new HP book getting a title, but I never actually looked into it. Thanks for sharing! :) I have a feeling that this next installment is going to be the most adult of the series, but I’ll leave it at that…

Yay for good presents! :) What kind of digicam did you get? I’d love a Nikon Coolpix, but I’d also settle for a Canon too, lol.

I still need to look for a place for next year. I want to live somewhere close to campus, but I don’t think that that is going to happen. Anywhere near campus is so expensive!

Heard of the HP book’s title. Deathly hallows? *sweatdrop*
Death eaters, Halloween (but that’s a given almost), Godric’s Hallow? *shrug*
The name is a bit dramatic..I believe that’s the term.

    Christmas? *shrug* recieved clothing -_-

Hmm, the apartment sounds nice =)

Sounds like you had a great Christmas! I’m happy to hear that. I really need to get a new digital camera. One that’s less bulky, lol. Anyway, the new Harry Potter title is lame, lol. My fiance think she’s running out of ideas of what to call them. Good thing this is the last book. Anyway, I can’t wait to see your presents, I should probably take a picture of mine sometime, heh.

Lol… almost 2 years ago, we had a power problem and it burnt part of our house. Crossed wired in the ceiling…scary. It took 3 months to get back to our home from waiting for insurance and workers to get it fixed.

Happy Holidays…and good luck cleaning out Despair.
