I Like It Here

by Veronica

Well it’s been a week since I moved with my best friend into our new apartment. I am still getting use to Tallahassee but so far so good! First day of classes at FSU were Monday and today, and they went well. I really love my Monday/Wednesday/Friday classes (Race/Ethnicity in the US and Early Modern Spain/Portugual), but not so much one of my Tuesday/Thursday classes. On those two days I have Early Medieval Art and 18th Century Art, both interest me but the first one I know will bore me. Subject = good but professor = boring. I’m thinking of dropping mediveal class as well.

No new job yet, but an old co-worker is coming into town at the end of this month along with my mom so she’s going to try to hook me up (her daughters live here too) with a well paying job. Yay. Which is good because at the end of Feb. my cell phone plan runs out and I really want to get a new phone (I’m leaning towards a sidekick but we’ll see).

I still need a desk for my new room as well (computer is on the floor haha), but I am also probably getting a laptop soon since it’s something most universities if not all want you to have. Thankfully my Grandmother is sending me some money for school, which is awesome!

Boring blog. I’m sorry. I will be at home this weekend from Friday-Monday since Monday we have no school. I am going back home to pick up some things, visit a few people there, and glomp my dog like crazy haha. I miss my dog so much, and of course my mother too but apparently Neo (my dog) is hanging around my mother a lot since he misses me. Aw. It’s almost 10:30pm and I have class in the morning (well at 10am haha) so I am off to relax then bed. Have you started back to school yet? If so, what classes are you taking? Expect a new layout within the next week. Oh yes, and my birthday is next Wednesday!

Thankfully I’ve still got a couple weeks left, so I’m trying not to think about it. I can’t even remember the schedule I made up lol, but I know it’s a really full one. I’m actually taking a business law class right now.

Good luck with everything. And, I agree the Early Medieval Art and 18th Century Art do sound boring.

I graduated from university several years ago and actually, I wished I had taken more courses like that – Early Medieval Art and 18th Century Art. Stuff that’s not actually, for the most part… in this working world, practical. (No offense.)

I took a lot of courses that would actually contribute to me getting a good job (and $)… but I sometimes wished I’d taken courses – just for interest, learning for learning’s sake.

I never said the classes were boring, I said one of the professors was.

I don’t take offense, because I agree. That’s why I take classes like that (hence why I said I like them), it’s just the professor in one of them is just ugh… reminds me of my Art History classes EXACTLY.

I’m glad to hear that you’re liking Tal so much. That sucks that your professor is boring, but maybe as time goes on it’ll improve? Who knows, worth a shoot. I hope you’re able to get a job soon, seeing as you want to get a new phone. Anyway, good luck with your classes and your search for a job!

Eh, I still use the same old regular notebooks for my notes, but laptops are pretty handy. I take mine everywhere I go.
Got a week left ’till school! I still need to register my classes. >

Good luck with finding a job! I’d like to go back to school for nursing or something else medical. I’ll probably do half of it online because I have a 10 month old son and I’ve been staying home with him since he was born!

My computer was on the floor for a while during Christmas. We had no room for the computer and tree both, but I am an online junkie, so the floor it was!

    Hi Naco!

FSU sounds pretty exciting. You classes seem so much more interesting than my high school ones. Good luck getting a job! I had two over the summer and they drove me nuts… but i suppose fastfood restaurants and telemarketing arent exactly the best choices lol.

We started school last week… eughhh not fun XD.

Btw, thanks for setting up the wp database for me… just a quick question, what do i put for the DB_NAME…? Thanks a bunch!

Can’t wait for the layout… and HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY!

Aww! You moved in with your best friend. That sounds like a lot of fun :) Well, it’s really up to you whether or not you want to drop the classes but don’t forget to drop ‘em before it’s too late :P

Ooh. Good luck on finding a job! Why not get an iPhone instead of a sidekick? XD

…Dude that sucks that your computer’s on the floor! Is there an IKEA nearby? :P But yeah, laptops are the way to go!

Awww your dog :( Poor Neo. That’s so cute, that he’s hanging around your mom haha.

    HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY NACO.
