I am sure by now everyone is aware if the Virgina Tech Shooting, so horrible my heart goes out to everyone affected. What really angers me is how people are taking advantage of that situation. I keep hearing about schools across the US receiving bomb threats, and it’s probably some young naive child hoping they won’t have to take that test they didn’t study for … really sickens me. The school I go to (which so happens to be the sister school to VTECH which I didn’t know until I today sadly) has asked all students to submit their mobile phone number in a database, so if a an emergency happens they can mass text message the entire school. Now I am not sure how reliable or effective that would be, but it’s something at least.
I find myself getting addicted to Gaia once again, it’s such a fun and cute game to play (if you have an account feel free to add me username is veroicone). In short it’s basically a community where you can play games, dress up your character, buy things, meet new people, etc. it’s fun

Yes, I know the problem well…a while back I was addicted to neopets…completely and utterly powerless against it addictive nature! And the Sims…got addicted to that too, lol.
About the shooting…people who are capable of such heartless and selfish acts disgust me.
Wow how scary to think that it hit so close to home. I’m still shocked by the news. And that’s outrageous that people would try and take advantage of such tragedy. ::shakes head::
I’m not so sure about the mass text messaging too. But I guess it’s worth a shot and if it makes people feel safe, then there is no harm in trying it.
I’m still just blown away by it all.

My addiction to Harry Potter just so happens to overule everything else. There isn’t time for mundane things like schoolwork when I could be reading fanfiction.
I was terribly upset when reading about the Virginia Tech shooting and saw the video footage of it. It was truly horrific. I really do believe that there should be more gun control in the US though but it seems that this mindset is shared by most people – except from those that I’ve talked to who live there.
I was able to see the news about VTech last night. It is really tragic, having to hear that 32 people died…
It was very tragic with what happened most recently with VA Tech. I feel wholeheartedly for all the loved ones that are dealing with the loss of their loved ones.

I can honestly say I cried..that & the incident at Colombia where the girl was raped & tortured for 19 hours. Its sickening.
I believe i was addicted to neopets when younger.. probably like when i was 16 or something, i dont remember.. i know people who play gaia but i have seen the site and its not my thing
i think the cellphone idea in your school might help in something.. but i dont know.. i have my doubts about giving my number to the school hahaha.. iknow they wont do anything bad with it but still

I used to be addicted to NeoPets, and then Gaia, and then NeoPets but nothing atm, which is probably a good thing. lol. I tried getting back into Gaia a little bit ago because a friend wanted me to, but I just didn’t find it as much as I did a couple years ago. :B
But yah, the shootings are really sad, and it’s also sad because one of the shooters teachers had gone to the police saying he might do something, and there was something that wasn’t right with him, and the police didn’t do really anything about it to prevent this.
But the cellphone idea seems smart, it would probably help somewhat. I hope so anyways.
It is nice to see that your school is trying to do something. Maybe the text messages won’t work, but I see it being better than an email.
