Watch Out, I Bite

by Veronica

In the deep blue sea lies mysteries even beyond our own imagination, and creatures that look as if they came out of a Sci-Fi movie. I’ve always been fascinated with the ocean and what lived in it. Sure I love the usual ones, dolphins, whales, some fish. etc. but one that has always captivated me has been sharks. Whether it’s a giant great white or a much smaller one I’ve always liked them. I was the little kid who defended sharks and said they were misunderstood, even when I was 8. And I still say that heh. My dream has always been to swim with sharks, granted even I admit I wouldn’t want to come face-to-face with the image to the left but they are very underestimated animals. I bought a video about sharks, and in it they show a trainer who has trained certain breeds of sharks, which shocks mosts since they think of them as man eating machines with no thought process. Anyways, it’s Shark Week on Discovery Channel so naturally I keep watching it haha. What is something that you like that most don’t?

In other news, I finally saw the new Harry Potter movie. I enjoyed it, but as others have stated over and over again I was disappointed with what was cut out but at least Luna Lovegood was dead on as to what I imagined her to act/be like. I also saw The Simpsons Movie, wow that movie was funny. It felt like a long episode but I enjoyed it (saw it Saturday night and saw HP Friday night with friends).

It seems those who have submitted their sites up for review were sent into my spam folder, oops. I’ve been emailing those who submitted their site plus I am have been hunting for a plugin for reviewing without any luck but I was able to find a plugin to display a star rating so that works. I also have two new Wii games, Sonic and Resident Evil 4 so far I like both :)

Man, Shark Week is my favourite week on Discovery Channel. :D Something about sharks just attract me, even though they scare me. I also thought the new Harry Potter movie was disappointing, but at least the special effects were nice.

I love the movie Jaws. Or Jaw…. I don’t remember the name. But I really enjoyed the first movie.

I agree with you completely when you say “I’ve always been fascinated with the ocean and what lived in it.”

I love watching television shoes showing the funny little fishes, the glowing fishes… I especially love the treasures that are found in the ocean. I’d just love to go diving one day and explore the bottom of the ocean, just to see what I could discover.

The only shark I like can be seen on Finding Nemo. Anything else is too much for my weak stomach.

I think the reason why alot of people think that sharks are “Man eating machines” is because of watching movies like Jaws and Deep Blue Sea, where the shark is the villian and is killing all the people one by one in the movie. But in reality a shark is no different than any other animal, they will attack something if they feel threatened, or kill and eat something if they are hungry, it’s just natures way right? Although I probay would never want to come face to face with a shark either. I really want too see The Simpsons movie, alot of people have said it was good!

  6. I don’t really have anything that I like that most people don’t I don’t think at least lol. I’m terrified of sharks because I’ve heard so many horror stories. That is one reason I will never swim in the ocean. I haven’t kept up with HP in the movies since like the first two lol oops;x. I’ve never read the books though because they don’t interest me …

Something I like that most people don’t? I’m not quite sure about that…haha. I’m kind of like you, I like watching things on nature just because I’ve always taken a liking to animals of all sorts — especially wild animals. For you it’s sharks but for me it’s always been the big cats. ^^

You’re so lucky to have seen the harry potter movie already! A lot of people have but I still have not, which is pretty sad. =( I heard they cut a lot out of what Fred and George did, which makes me sad. I guess I’ll try to find a way to watch it on my own to see…-sighs-

Yarg, I agree with you in regards to the HP5 movie; going to see the Simpson’s Movie today though… guess it should be fun.

As for something that I like which people don’t… SPIDERS :D.

I really like watching History and sometimes anything dealing with weather and natural disasters. I love history because sometimes I use it in conversations that sometimes click with things I have watched. It is amazing how people like those tidbits that I sometimes cough up. Then again, I really like it for myself as I like to at least learn 1 new thing a day. :)

I watched the new HP, as well as all the other HP movies, but I have never read the books. I have not decided if I want to warm up to reading them. I love to read, but I always get disappointed when reading a book that has been made into a movie.

I think sharks are really neat *because* they are dangerous. That might be why you like them, because it’s scary and exciting and you’re a thrill seeker lol.

Sharks are very beautiful creatures. I think that they deserve respect just like any other, also. Sharks usually only attack when provoked or by nature when they think there is food. (At least from what I’ve read and seen most sharks are not hostile).
Anyways, I haven’t seen either of those movies. I will wait for the DVD. (Cheap like that). :)

Ha, why does it seem like it’s Shark Week at least once every month on Discovery? I’ve never watched a whole week on sharks before. Maybe I can wait until next month. Ha! :D

I’m a natural disaster fiend, so I get looks when I’m watching movies like “The Day After Tomorrow”. But it’s okay though. :P
