Saturday I went with my mother and my sister to St. Johns Town Center (basically a giant mall) for the sole purpose to purchase a macbookpro (15” 2.2) for myself along with a 30gb ipod since it’s 50 dollars with a student discount. I named the mac Fawkes and the ipod Hedwig, after Harry Potter of course haha (images below). Well before I bought buying the mac and ipod my sister, mother, and I shopped for a few hours, ate, and then shopped some more. Mainly my sister (whom is 31 for reference, but looks my age) and my mother were the ones buying things (I am not much of a clothes shopper). Eventually we got to the Apple store and as soon as my mother and I entered (my sister was going to meet us in there since she found a store she wanted to look in) a sales guy approached us. We told him why we were there and he kept asking me questions but I already knew what I wanted so I gave pretty quick answers (which impressed my mother since she couldn’t understand what either of us were saying haha). Took about 10 minutes all together, that included buying, Went to another store after that since my mother forgot about something where I shockingly found some cute new outfits I like (which my mom bought, yay) and then we left. As soon as we entered the car I began to play with my new mac.
Turns out there’s a one in a million chance of getting a mac that has something wrong with the light on it for the screen (was very dark, I could barely make anything out on it) and thankfully my mother asked the guy who helped us for his card. We called him when I got home (I assumed the sun in the car was causing the darkness) and he walked me through some settings (I had to hold the mac up to a lamp to see anything) and he just told us to bring it in the next day and they’d give me a new one. So this morning my mother and I drove 45 minutes to exchange the mac for another. At least I like it 
I would have cried if I hated it after all of that haha. Anyways say hello Fawkes the mac and Hedwig the ipod, both named after Harry Potter (I almost named the Mac Einstein though but wanted to stick with an HP theme). It also took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to close programs! I am slowly but surely getting use to it, I also still need to transfer my music and what not from my other laptop to this one.

I’m so jealous right now. I have a MacBook, but that’s enough for me, but still. MacBook Pro’s are just so sleek and shiny. Mhm.
I’ve had no problems with my Mac besides the fact that the 10.4.10 update caused some wireless problems. I just downgraded back to 10.4.9 by doing an archive and install, so it’s all good.
Do you think they give discounts for junior high students? I could probably use more space on my iPod, since I’m running dangerously low on space. ;)
Aw well at least thats better than nothing haha! Aw no, I think the discount is only for college students :/
That’s very cool. At school, everyone seems to be getting macs, and I’ve decided to do the same, after graduation. My current laptop will (hopefully) last till then.

Aaaah, I wish I could get a MacBook Pro. Mac’s always look so much better than PC’s with their streamlined interface and whatnot.

Holy cow, a $50 iPod? That’s an amazing deal! You’re lucky! I would love to buy a laptop this year & back-to-school’s a pretty good time to find deals. That really sucks that yours was defective, though. At least it was only a 45-minute drive though!

Apple, unlike Microsoft sells their OS for a mere price of 100 or so dollars, so it’s all good. I would wait a few months before buying the new OS, because new OS’s usually have some odd bugs.

HEYY!!! I know this is annoying to ask you but… where did you get your blue calendars near your entries? We have the same layout but I hattttttte the pink calendars and search buttons etc… do you know where I can get the blue ones, or another color for this theme, if not?

They both look great! I love when you can go into a techie shop like that and know exactly what you want, because otherwise you end up getting into stupidly long conversations about which thing to pick, and it wastes a lot of time. I love that you named them after Harry Potter characters, HP is amazing!
Wow.. that’s a really good student discount. lol. I love shopping. It’s tiring, but it’s also fun. Especially when you get a new computer :X Sucks though, that you got one that was messed up.. but at least you got it replaced.

It seems that you’re one in a million.. haha. The computer labs at my college had macs and PCs, and I’m used to a PC so I had the same problem with closing programs haha. Congrats on the new toys!
