I Am Not JOBLESS!

by Veronica

So last blog I mentioned that last week (on Friday) I’d be going on an uber job hunt, well the Wednesday before that I received a call from Target asking if I could go in sometime that day for a job interview. I was ecstatic and amused at the fact that the man who interviewed me is named Tim Burton. Interview went well, I gave the usually cheesy answers to questions he asked me about previous jobs and situations blah blah blah. After the interview he asked me to come back tomorrow to pick up some paperwork and to ask for someone named Stephanie, for another interview. I didn’t know if that meant I got the job or not.

Thursday I went in and spoke with Stephanie and she offered me a job there :) The Tim person seems to think I’d be good for the floor, basically putting clothes away, working at the fitting room, etc. I took a drug test the day after and since I don’t do drugs I know it went well. She told me it would take 5-10 business days until they called me about oreintation, and it’s been about 5 so far and nothing yet! If they don’t call by this Friday I will probably call them.

I am so happy to finally have a job now too! YAY. Now whether or not I’ll start anytime soon is another story …

In other news Despair.nu is being weird, I have been attempting (and so has Linda, who made the script) to fix it. For some reason it will not send out comment emails to anyone, so hopefully that will be fixed. I also still want to add more to the site as well :) Woot job.

They make you take a drug test… for a job like that?

Well, I’ve just never known anyone who has ever had to take a drug test for a job. It’s not a common practice here in Ontario, Canada… for retail jobs. For most jobs, really.

I love how the interviewer’s name is Tim Burton, haha that made my day.
I wonder what’s the drug test for.

I think despair is fixed now, since I got an email today.

Hey congratulations. I’m sure they’ll call you back and have you go through the orientation, because hey, who wouldn’t want Naco to work for them! That’s so cool that “Tim Burton” was your interviewer! XD

Hm, I know you had the comment email thing fixed for a bit, but I noticed today that I didn’t receive the email for this week but my new assignments are already on the site…

congrats on the job. weird that you have to do a drug test… i dunno… i’ve never done one, the most i’ve ever had to do is a criminal records check… but i don’t break the law so there’s nothing on the report. Good stuff, hopefully they have called by now

Hope all went well with that job thing. You haven’t updated here in like 2 weeks, so I have no clue :X.

I noticed we haven’t been getting comments, but everytime I went to the site it seemed to be loading ok.. so I was kind of confused. Hop all that gets straightened out!

Yay, congrats on the job! And how strange that your interviewer was named “Tim Burton.” *lol* That’s just awesome.

I’m still having issues with getting my Despair comment emails. I know you’re working hard to get that fixed. I think it’s great that you put so much time and effort into improving Despair. Yay! *lol*

Congrats on getting the job! I have lots of friends who work at Target, so you’ll probably like it. You’ll start to hate people, though. Especially the ones that try on about a billion articles of clothing and leave them all on the floor for you to fix and put back on the rack. So annoying.

I have a manager named Tim, but his last name isn’t as cool as Burton. In fact, he’s not cool at all. He’s very dorky, lol. Can’t imagine what he was like as a teenager. o.O

His name is Tim Burton?! That’s great, it reminds me of Office Space where Mike’s name is Michael Bolton, lol. I’d much rather share a name with the dark and hip Tim Burton than the balding and sappy Michael Bolton, haha.

Target seems like it’d be a cool place to work, congrats on getting the job :)

Congrats on the new job! I’m very happy for you. :D I hop you get Despair fixed. Its a very, very cool site. I love being a member of it! I also love how it lets me know who I should be receiving comments from. That is handy although tons of people have never commented, I never report anyone. I can’t be bothered doing it. I have to keep up on my comments too… (thats why I’m here)

ha that is rather ironic, I wonder if he ever get’s asked if he is “him”. Sounds like your interview went well and I hope you get the job. Good luck on fixing the scripts that is always a pain!
