My Bad Habits

by Veronica

I am taking part in theĀ Veracity 31 day blog challenge! Day 5 prompt is: What are some of your bad habits?

Talked about my pet peeves before, but now it’s time to talk about I guess pet peeves I go myself or bad habits. I have several!

  • Biting my nails – it’s something I have done since … well, probably since I had teeth. If I don’t bite them I just pick at them with my nails. Probably had a lot to do with me playing a lot of sports when I was younger (which I played up until I was about 17) and it was annoying to play with nails. Also I found trying to type on the computer with nails was difficult (I have worn fake nails before when I was younger and ended up taking them off for that reason haha), there’s probably a method to it but I have yet to discover it. I have grown my nails out a few times, but end up breaking them one way or another.
  • Easily distracted – I am easily distracted by pretty much anything. It’s really only a bad habit when I am trying to focus on something (such as homework) and instead I am surfing the net or decide it’s time to clean :P

I’m sure I have loads more than that but at the moment that’s all I can think of!

I started biting my nails at work today, and this lady came up to me, and goes, “Stop biting your nails!” LOL. Kind of random, but I do it without even realizing at times. I’m also easily distracted, and I have a habit of twirling my hair.

I used to bite my nails a lot (pretty much until they bled) and I bit them for a number of years (since I was 11 until earlier this year, so 10 years). I’m glad that I finally managed to stop.

I’m trying to break the habit of biting my nails. I started biting them when I got braces, then I had braces for 6 years. So yeah… it has turned into a huge habit. =/
