Naco’s World

by Veronica

I am taking part in theĀ Veracity 31 day blog challenge! Day 7 prompt is: What was your first ever website called? What was it about? How long did you have it?

My first website was called “Naco’s World”, creative right :P I joined my first web forum many, many, many years ago and it was called Dizzy Cafe. At some point on the board I learned how to make blinkies. Someone suggested that I should make a website and post all of my blinkies and have it so people can order them as well, which I did. I created the website on geocities (RIP) but only had it for a short period of time because I got bored with it (or something). At some point I joined this chat system style place called The Palace and in it you could create backgrounds to be used in the visual chatrooms and I made quite a few that became popular. Had people claiming to be me (I think my username was something like xBuffyx) so I brought back “Naco’s World” and started putting the backgrounds there. Eventually I started blogging and added more content and moved on to subdomain hosting followed by domains. To where I am at now, which is strange to think h ow far I have come!

I was on geocities for about a month or so until I found hosting on a few subdomains. In case your curious what exactly a blinkie is it’s an animate pixel basically. I found some old samples I had so here they are:

I used jasc animation shop 3 to make them and I have to say I am a little curious to see if I can still make them :P
