Woke up this morning at 5:30am for work (not so fabulous), but overall work was a great day Coworkers kept wishing me a happy birthday and we even had pizza for lunch at work. After work I bought a few things and headed to Michael’s arts and crafts store to pick up some stuff to make a World of Warcraft inspired bag. Jose and I waited around the apartment before going out for dinner. He ordered me something and it finally came after 6:30pm. I was shocked when he told me to close my eyes and he presented me with a dozen red roses

Initially I thought of The Hunger Games and President Snow, haha (which by the way, I finished reading the final book today SO GOOD!) but they were a nice surprise. After the pretty roses came we left to go eat at Genghis Grill, which neither of us have ever been at. Basically you get a bowl and go to a buffet style area and pick what meats and vegetables you want (all raw) which you can also add a wide array of seasoning too. Then you pick a sauce for your dish as well as a starch and they cook it for you and bring it to  your table when it’s finished. It was SO good and we plan on eating there again really soon.

I had chicken, steak, carrots, broccoli, and white rice in a honey soy sauce. Was very good, also had cheesecake for dessert Also got to raid in World of Warcraft tonight with guildies for the first time which was a lot of fun (even won some nice pieces!).

Overall I had an amazing birthday. Next weekend I am going home to visit family and to celebrate my birthday again Been getting lovely cards from family members also wishing me a happy birthday! This was also my first birthday with my iPhone so I was shocked with how many facebook comments, tweets, and forum birthday wishes I was receiving Thanks again everyone!

I am taking part in the Veracity 31 day blog challenge! Week 4 theme is Favorites! What is one of your favorite memories that involves your friends or family? Why is it one of your favorite?

I have dozens upon dozens of memories with my friends. More than I can count. But one that really sticks out is when my friends and I would always drive up to St. Augustine (about a hour long drive) to walk along the beach, eat yummy lunch, walk around the shops, and just have a blast with each other. We started doing it our senior year of high school and it continued into our first few years of college when we were all still living in the same area. We always had fun in St. Augustine and we went there A LOT. I miss it I miss those times but at least we have the hundreds of pictures on facebook to look at

When I was little I had a stuffed clown dog that I named pink puppy dog. She was a white stuffed dog with a light pink and white polka-dotted outfit with a clown hat (which ended up ripping off). I LOVED this stuffed animal. She went everywhere I went. She stayed in my bed with me when I slept, I took her with me when I went out, etc. I don’t remember this happening because I was too little at the time but my mother has told me this story before. Once I lost pink puppy dog.

Somehow I lost her. We thought I left her at maybe a restaurant or she was somewhere in the house but she was never found. I of course I was very upset (I was maybe 4 or 5? Not really sure!). So my mother’s solution was to buy me a new one. She went to the department store she got the original pink puppy dog (I think JcPenny?) but they only had a blue one. So she got me that one, which was fine with me. I named him blue puppy dog (I was so creative as a kid :P) and I loved him just as much until one day we found her. I guess my mom and I were about to watch a movie so she opened the entertainment doors we had under the tv to pull out a VHS tape for us to watch only to find pink puppy dog. Apparently my response when she found her was “I forgot I put her there to take a nap!” And once again I carried her around everywhere

I still have this stuffed dog at my mother’s house along with blue puppy dog. Pink puppy dog has some wear and tare on her, you can tell she lost some “weight” from where her stuffing has come out while blue puppy dog still has his hat intact.  She was my favorite stuffed animal for the longest time.

I am taking part in the Veracity 31 day blog challenge! Week 4 theme is Domestic! Describe your current place of residence. What do you like and dislike about it? Do you live alone or with someone else? How long do you see you staying at your current residence?

I currently live in a 2 bedroom apartment 2 bathroom apartment, with a nice sized kitchen and living room. I love the location because it’s right next to the FSU stadium so I can walk if I want to. Plus this complex has one of the FSU bus stops right at the entrance so I can take a bus to class if I don’t feel like driving What I dislike about it is the neighbors. Some people act like typical college students and will be loud by screaming or blaring music.

I currently live with my boyfriend and he’s been here since March. When I first moved to Tallahassee in January 2007 I lived with my best friend Becca (who moved out recently when she graduated!) and eventually another friend joined us in August of that year since we were living in a 3 bedroom apartment. We loved the place minus the horrible staff and the VERY annoying guys that lived below us. All 3 of them blared music at odd hours of the morning and we had a lot of problems with them. When our other friend graduated Becca and I chose to move into a 2 bedroom place which is where I am at now Although it still has it’s moments it’s a lot quieter than the last place!

Our leases at our current apartment are up in a year, so August 2012. I think we’d both like to try and rent a house or find a cheaper and larger place to live in if possible. I wouldn’t mind living a little further away from FSU campus if it meant it’d be a big quieter

Last night we went to a Verizon store to just look into getting a plan and the gentlemen (sure it’s his job but he did seem genuine!) was very helpful but my mother told him she wanted a day to think about it. We went back this afternoon and got Verizon phones! I was excited too because I was able to put it under my name without having to pay a deposit (I have no credit but want to try to build some), which is also good because I can use my employee discount on my monthly bill. In the end, after some convincing to my mother, I got a white 16gb iPhone. WHICH I LOVE! Very easy to use and fun. Since I got an iPad for Christmas/birthday and I’ve had my macbook pro for almost 4 years I knew I wanted to stick with Apple products because I’ve always had good luck with them.

I decided to get in white simply because I liked the look of it I also got a discount on accessories so picked out a white and black plaid case. I am really enjoying it so far and glad I (and my mother) decided on getting it I have found some neat apps so far and will definitely have to make a post about them. In the end I also decided on getting a new cell number, I’ve been getting random spam text messages and phone calls for a while and can’t get them to stop so figured it was best to start fresh. Just have to get used to it.

On Christmas Day I opened a present that was a George Foreman Grill, I thought it was random for my Mom to buy me one but I could use it none-the-less. She kept hinting for me to open it which I didn’t get at first, but then I opened it to find the Kinect box inside of it! I was so excited, she even got it on video haha I didn’t bring my xbox home with me though so I wasn’t able to play it until I drove back to Tallahassee today, and it’s SO much fun! I can’t wait to get some more games for it. Here’s pictures of everything I got

Kinect, Bath & Body works (lotion, perfume, and sanitzer) and 2 Publix Giftcards (grocery store). Everything but the Kinect was in my stocking (along with some body wash, loofah, chocolate, bath & body works lipgloss [all not pictured]).

My sister went to China over the summer and bought me this beautiful jade necklace there She also got me a really nice coat, but I didn’t take a picture of it.

I exchanged gifts with my best friend Becca Wednesday night and ths is what she got me Some highlighters (cos she knows I love them and use them for school!), Paul Frank chapstick w/ a keychain holder, 2 pairs of gloves, iTunes giftcard, cute skull pirate fluffy socks, cute fridge magnets, and to be random she bought me large paperclips haha. She also took a pottery class last semester (she also graduating too! congrats to her, I’ll have a new roommate in another month but I already know him since we’re dating haha) and gave me one of the bowls.

It’s a very heavy but pretty bowl for decoration! I may put fruit in it or something else. Not sure yet

I also received money from relatives for Christmas. BUT I was able to talk my mom into letting me buy my birthday gift now. She bought herself a new laptop since her old one died and I was able to convince her to let me get an iPad (used my xmas money + she paid for the rest)! Since I got it from work I again got a nice discount on it and already ordered from stuff from Amazon.com to protect it! I was shocked she said I could get it but my bday is in a few weeks so happy early bday to me. I LOVE it! I still have some more accessories I’d like to buy (already bought a leather case and protective screen cover which only cost $15 in total but I also want a stylus and a dock and silicone case). I normally don’t get this many gadgets for Christmas/Birthday so I am very thankful for the new toys I’ve been downloading so many apps on it I named it Weasley after Harry Potter since my other gadgets have HP related names but I may change it to something WoW related. I def recommend the iPad, I got just the 16gb wifi since I don’t need 3G here (wifi is everywhere!) and it’s so easy to browse webpages, check email, read books, play games etc on. I even downloaded an app so I can use it as a tablet Of course my background is Horde related I’m excited to start using it next week when classes start on the 4th (only taking 2 this semester, Web Design 1 and Graphic Design 3).
What did everyone get this holiday season? I hope everyone had a lovely holiday and I am so ready for 2011!

When I was younger my sister and I would visit our Dad and Stepmom in Ohio. This particular time I was probably about 6/7 which would make my sister 16/17. Now naturally my sister was wiser and older and smarter etc etc etc (at least she acted that way :P). Crushing my childhood was something she did frequently, she probably has no memory of doing so but it happened often! We both still remember this event though, and it makes me laugh now.

I remember being in Ohio visiting my Dad and Stepmom with my sister when somehow we got into this debate (aka them vs me) about Lassie. I LOVED Lassie as a child. A cute fluffy dog that saves people?! Seeing as I always wanted a pet at that age that was my dream dog. I wanted to have a dog like that, so badly. I don’t remember how it started, but I remember how it ended. Somehow someone brought up to me that Lassie is a boy. I of course was 6/7 and knew everything and kept saying “No, Lassie’s a girl dog!”, because that’s what the dog was so naturally I assumed the dog playing Lassie was a girl too. My sister, dad and stepmom, kept trying to tell me she was really a he. I remember they kept saying that a girl dog would not do those tricks or roll around in the dirt (or something like that). I remember laying on the couch ANNOYED at them for telling me this. For weeks I thought they were lying. I remember being almost in TEARS at this news because I was just so upset at the fact that the show was lying by using a male dog to play a female dog.

Of course years and years later I realized they were right and discovered the amazingness that is the internet and was able to look it up myself . I laugh at it now, considering how upset and angry I was. You’d think they told me Santa Claus was fake or something because I was really that mad, over a DOG. My sister still remembers this (we talked about it many months ago) and I’m sure remembers the pure rage that I was having over such an event. I think I was more upset over this then when I realize there was tooth fairy (I’ll blog about that soon too, it’s an amusing story). Anything specific from your child like this? Whether it was learning about Santa Claus or something show related like me?

Edit: So I remember mentioning this once to my sister on facebook and I found it on her wall. From last year, she apparently doesn’t remember telling me Lassie was a boy.  Veronica = Me, Allison = my sister, and Nancy = one of my aunts. I think I’m slightly offended she doesn’t remember this since it was such a huge deal to me when I was younger
