Leaving for SC tomorrow then headed to TN
About 11 or so hours in a car, ew. Went shopping with my mother today though (picked up the first Toy Story movie on dvd!) and got lots of clothes, snacks, and other goodies
Bought something that plugs into a cigarette lighter and allows you to charge and use any electronic that runs on an ac adaptor which means I can use my laptop in the car
A portable dvd play is about 89 dollars and the plug thing was only 23 so my mother was fine with getting it
I get a nice 15” laptop to watch my movies on then
Hopefully I can use it in my aunts car too when my mother and I arrive in SC to meet up with her.
Right now I have everything charging though. My ipod, cellphone, camera, and nintendo ds. I’m going to have to amuse myself for many hours when I am unable to sleep in the car. Since I won’t be able to take part in the blogathon (no net) until next Tuesday when I am back in Florida, I’ll be keeping a blog just on my laptop to post when I get back (I’ll keep them short though of course).
One of my cousins had a baby 2 weeks ago so I’ll be excited to see baby Julie
I’ve seen pics on fb of her and her hubby with the baby and she’s sooooo cute! I’ll also see the rest of my family which I haven’t seen in years! Along with my dad, stepmom, and little brother (its my grandmother, my dad’s mom’s bday saturday). Very excited
Slept too late today so I didn’t have time to do a vlog :p Expect one next week when I get back
The movies I’m bringing:
- Avatar
- Toy Story
- Alice in Wonderland
- Up
- Hangover
- Princess & The Frog
I almost wish I grabbed a season or two of Buffy
That’d last me the whole trip there haha
I also have the following DS games packed:
- Mario Kart
- Nintendogs Lab edition
- Super Mario Bros
- Zelda and the Phantom Hourglass
- Animal Crossing
I should be amused enough, I hope
If I can find wifi I can play WoW too haha ;)
I drove home today and I am so happy to off for 2 weeks from work and Tallahassee in general
Tomorrow is shopping day when my mom gets off work, hoping to convince my mom to let me get a portable dvd player for the trip to TN on Thursday. I have one somewhere in my apartment but I couldn’t find it and it’s so old the battery life isn’t up to par anymore (plus it doesn’t have a cigarette lighter adapter to charge with!). Not going to get anything expensive, just something cheapish to last me the trip
(I grabbed several movies to watch!). If I don’t get that I’ve been wanting Rhythm Heaven for the ds
Someone at work has it and he loves it and ever since it came out I always wanted to get it.
I’m going to try to pack many goodies to entertain myself with: laptop (but the battery life sucks so I can’t do much with it), ipod, dvd player (hopefully!), sketchbook, and nintendo ds. And I’ll also have the first True Blood book to read too, I haven’t read in a car in ages so I hope it doesn’t make me sick (it used to not to!).
Coming home is always nice though, I got here before my mom got off so I saw my little adorable dog Neo first
He looked so happy to see me (but he’s happy to see anyone really :P) but I noticed one of his eyes is cloudy. It looks like little ol’ Neo may have a cataract, when we get back we have to take him to the vet so they can test his urine (ew, I have to attempt to collect it … tmi … and I don’t see that working well :P) for certain diseases so they can check his eye out too. I can’t believe he’s 9, he doesn’t act like it but he’s starting to show more and more signs of his age
I worked today, and it decided to storm. There’s nothing like sitting in the break room watching Transformers on tv only to have the power randomly cut off. Twice. Because the lights coming back on is a way for the power and weather to tease you. Thankfully it wasn’t off long. But spending the rest of my break staring at a blue screen saying “can not find signal” was not very exciting :P
The weather also decided to knock out the power later on, but this time I was actually on the sales floor. I left the flashlight I had in the cart (I was zoning at the time) and was in another section to grab something and of course the power went out. I just stood there, as still as possible, waiting for it to come back on. Once it did I sprinted to my cart and grabbed the flash light and carried it with me for about an hour until the storm passed
‘Cos you know, the power doesn’t go out when you have a flash light near you it’s only when you don’t.
Now the power going off at work I don’t mind, hey I’m getting paid to fiddle with a flash light and run around in the dark until the back up generators kick on. Works for me! But when I’m at home I get soooo bored. Especially if it’s pitch black and I have to use my flashlight like it’s part of me. What do you do when you’re home and the power goes out? I usually watch a movie on my portable dvd player or laptop if they have enough power in them, if not I draw, clean, organize random things, or read. Tomorrow I am seeing Toy Story 3, expect a review of it tomorrow
