New Layout!

After illustrating for a few days and coding for a few more my new layout is FINALLY finished. I also integrated widgets into Wordpress now, and found a way to still use a dynamic sidebar with them Anyways, the old layout was up for about a year I believe so it was about time for a new one! This one features me, but a chibi version of myself and the things I love (art, gaming, and my iPhone). I’ll probably continue to edit the sidebar over the next few days until I am completely satisfied with it. Also, there’s some errors that I am slowly but surely trying to fix. Also going to start using tags instead of just categories.

Anyways, yesterday a friend from work got married and it was a beautiful wedding. It was also done in a lodge that’s near a river (which I have been to before) so naturally I took a few photos with my iPhone.

Currently working on a master copy painting in my painting class and creating a product in my print design class, so once I have more done with each expect lots of photos

New Smilies!

I forgot how much I enjoyed to pixel About a week ago I was thinking of re-designing some smilies for the site since the ones I was using and had for download were pretty old, well last night I did. I really like how they turned out and I am currently using the multi-color set :D! Below are all of the sets available, and I was thinking of doing more (maybe ones with speech bubbles, some animated) and maybe add a few more emoticons to the sets

What I’ve Been Making

I’m a horribly distracted person. My days consist of lots of “I should blog today” or “hey that vlog I was going to do 5 weeks ago yeah I should do that” … it doesn’t happen. I got Fable 3 this week and have been playing it on the xbox. School work = distracting (but in a good way I guess?) and of course lots and lots of World of Warcarft :D! But, I thought I’d blog before my next class to show what I have been making in my classes! Personal note ~ work is good, family is good, boyfriend and I broke up over a month ago, and I already met someone else. Woot. On to the artsy stuff!

I don’t have anything from my figure drawing class because all of my work stays in the classroom in my huge sketchbook so I’ll have photos of those at some point.

Graphic Design 2

This class is also about typography and one of our recent projects was creating a font! In the spirit of Halloween I made a font I call “A Bloody Mess”. We had to at least do the main alphabet and it’s an actual working font which is installed on my laptop I’ll slowly post the rest of the projects here too

Digital Photo Imaging

We use a film camera but we edit images in photoshop. Image below was 2 projects ago, we had to mess with shutter speed (either fast or slow) and I experimented with a slow shutter speed to make images look ghostly. Below are two of the images of me in a graveyard (don’t worry, I wasn’t dancing on the tombstones or anything!) Click each image for a larger view on my Deviant Art account.

My next project for this class is where we have to have about 10 prints, and for mine I am going to make a graphic novel/Sin City thing to it. A friend and her boyfriend are going to help me out and I am going to make it look like he’s killing her I’m excited for this one! I shall try to blog/post as the project goes along because it’s a month long process.

Welcome to Wonderland, where the tea is tasty and everyone is mad I went home at the beginning of May for about a week and half and while there I randomly had the idea to make an Alice inspired layout. After many days of messing in photoshop with the illustrations and many weeks coding I am finished! I may still tweak some of the colors here and there (I can’t seem to get the annoying blue border around the thumbnails in the sidebar to go away), but other than I am very pleased with it I loved my last layout but it’s Summer time and I want something bright and happy. And I love Alice in Wonderland so it fits (I still need to see the new one by Tim Burton!).

Also notice the spiffy font at the top, an Alice font. I love plugins. Sadly, I have another idea for another layout too … but at the rate it takes me to make and code them it won’t be up for awhile ;) Let me know what you think about the layout and any errors you may see. Also let me know if you saw the new Alice in Wonderland movie, it comes out on DVD Tuesday so I may pick up a copy of it

I’m Baaaack

First off, I deserve a pat on the back for getting the site back up this quickly. I was apparently highly motivated Anyways, new layout! I made the owl originally sometime last year and came across the file and ended up making a night scene with some other animals. Oh top of a new layout I edited a few pages here and there and also added a new section, Artwork. Having my class projects on flickr worked but I wanted it to be more integrated into the site itself, so I was able to accomplish that using Nextgen Gallery :). I am up-to-date on all class work thus far except for a few classes (have to locate the photos I took of them), even with my classes this semester.

In other news, I haven’t been up to much. I recently got promoted at work and I am not a permanent member of the electronics team (even though I’ve been working it for over a year haha), which also means a raise so yay for that. Nothing else is really going on (I am so boring), any thoughts/suggestions on the gallery itself or the layout would be appreciated

New Site, New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR <3! I can’t believe it’s 2010 already, nor can I believe I am FINALLY opening the new site! I registered this domain back in May (yeah a while back :x) and was finally motivated over the last week to finish it and decided that opening it on the new year would be nice I’ve edited some pages and added some new stuff as well with the move so everything should be in working order. The only thing I am having problems with is the 404 page and the contact page at the moment, but hopefully I’ll figure those out soon. Do you have any New Year resolutions? Here are mine (one was to get this site open so yay for completing one already!)

To actually exercise and eat as healthy as possible (and not just every other-other month like I have been doing!)
To get into the graphic design program at FSU (I apply this upcoming semester!)
To keep a daily moleskin of random thoughs, doodles, and general babble.
To learn how to play my acoustic guitar, my goal is to at least learn one full song.

And there’s probably more but at the moment I am drawing a blank Since I last blogged at Blissful.nu (oh how I will miss that domain!) I’ve bought an Xbox 360 which is my current addiction and quit World of Warcraft, again. I am very much addicted to Modern Warfare 2 since a very lovely person got it for me, it’s too much fun for it’s own good I also picked up a copy of Mass Effect at work for only $4.98 (I love clearance). In other news, I have not been up to much. Classes start next week and I wish my break was longer. I hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

As for Despair.nu – the domain has expired and the coder I originally had to add new features to it has been having internet problems. I have all of the files and databases backed up so hopefully sometime this year I can re-open Despair. Sorry it is taking so long, but hopefully sometime in this new year I’ll be able to reopen that site as well on a new domain I’m excitied to be blogging again, I missed it!

I'm Feelin' Artsie!

I bought a new domain. Yes, I know … rather random. Netrillium closed and sold all of it’s client and the new host charges $45 a year for a .nu …. I don’t think so. Nu’s at most hosting companies are about 62-64 for TWO years. As much as I love this domain it will be missed So I purchased the domain ARTSIE.ME! I felt it was fitting since I am an art student now and plan on posting my art projects. A new layout is in the works but it may be a few weeks before I finish it all, until then blissful will still be my home I am excited for a change though, even though I LOVE THIS DOMAIN

Summer classes started last week and I love my 3D Foundations class, it meets Monday-Thursday from 3:30pm-6pm, and we just turned in our first project today. It’s only a 6 week class (ends June 19th) so time will fly! I love my professor though, and I know two people in my class from last semester (they were both in my 2D Foundations class).

I will not be able to work on Despair.nu until my class is over, between work, school, and trying to get the new domain up I do not have the time. A few people have contacted me about helping out, and you should expect an email soon Expect more blogs until the new domain is up I am hoping when class is over in June I’ll be able to do more site related stuff
