About Artsie.me

Artsie.me was registered on May 8, 2009 through GoDaddy and finally opened on January 1, 2010. This domain is hosted through Holdfire Network (highly recommended!) on a shared plan. This a place where I can blog about life, school, and other happenings in my “world” with some visitor content as well.

Behind The Name

The old registrar company I purchased my previous domain from (blissful.nu) closed and sold it’s customers, since .nu names are already expensive the new registrar was charging a lot more than what I paid previously so I began thinking of new names. GoDaddy had a sale on .me domain extensions so I began wracking my brain for an idea. Since I am currently an art student at FSU, I came up with calling it “artsy” which later I knocked of the y and added the ie because I liked the look of it better.

Design History

I started making avatars on MS paint at forums and then I got into making blinkies. I made a site called Naco’s World which consisted of all of my blinkies, then I gave up on the boring site in June 2001. I ended up making a site again, called Naco’s World, which I stayed at for a while. I was offered hosting and some places and ended up being hosted by Jenny of st3llar.org and then I had to move which I was hosted by Katrina of truthfully.org. I decided to buy a domain, which I bought from Katrina at her hosting company (truthfully.org) and I had myveracity.net for almost 2 years. In Summer 2005 I was unable to renew myveracity and decided to buy a new domain, which is why I bought chancesfade.net. After being at chancesfade.net for about 8 months, I felt like I needed a domain change and decided to buy blissful.nu. Since opening the domain in 2006 many of the content from the past followed, but now have sense been deleted (celeb layouts, awful tutorials, etc). After being with Blissful.nu for about 3 years the price of .nu names went up in price (again) and I felt that maybe it was time for another change. I chose to make Artsie.me my new home :)

I’ve been hosted/located at:
luckygurl.net/naco – for a few days
st3llar.org/naco – a few months
truthfully.org/naco – quite a few months
myveracity.net – almost 2 years
chancesfade.net – 8 months
blissful.nu – 3 years
