For the last few days Neo, my dog, has not been acting himself. On Friday April 27th my mother took him to the vet (note, he lived with my mom while I moved away for college) and the vet told her there was nothing they could do. Neo had an enlarged heart, liver, lung, and his trachea was collapsing. Neo was an amazing 11 year old mutt (part poodle terrier and who knows what else) and he will be greatly missed I know it was hard for my mom to tell me this over the phone earlier that day, and hell it was hard for me to hear. But I know he is no longer in pain. I begged my mom over the phone to let me see him one more time, all I wanted to say was goodbye. But the vet said they shouldn’t wait. Now that I think about it, it was probably best I didn’t see him that way and instead that I remember him as the hyperactive dog that he was

Neo Angelus, you were an awesome dog. Smarter than most humans and always made me laugh. I will greatly miss you. I drove home after the news and tomorrow my mother, boyfriend (who rode with me since I couldn’t drive, was too upset) will be doing a bit of shopping before I head back to Tallahassee. I plan on getting some painting supplies and painting a portait of Neo. Now it’s time for some cute pictures of Neo

RIP Neo Angelus. November 1, 2000 – April 27, 2012 I love and miss you <3!

Of course eventually I realized it’s not. I love this domain and even though I am no longer an art student I am still an artist (of sorts). I still love looking at art, taking photos, painting, creating graphics, etc. Now I am a college graduate trying to find a design job. Instead of posting artwork I am working on in school I can post artwork I am working on on my own time. I’m still trying to build a better portfolio, and there’s no reason for me to not to document it here Speaking of which, I actually have a new portfolio layout up :D!

Each day in April I will be blogging and I’ll be using the topics from Sarai’s Blog Topic List! Other awesome Snark members are also taking part in this. For day 3 I chose #19 on the list, which is “Best *insert browser* add-ons and why”

I started using Google Chrome about the time it came out. Previously I was using Firefox but kept having problems with it to the point where I just removed it from my computer entirely. Since I’ve been using Chrome I’ve been downloading so many addons and extensions to make run, feel, and look the way I want it to. I have one favorite, that I can not live without. It’s called Speed Dial.

Basically you can add thumbnails which contain your favorite links right on your home location of your browser. I LOVE this addon. Instead of housing some of my favorite links into bookmarks I just use this addon. While trying to get the version of Speed Dial on my macbook pro to work I found an even better version of Speed Dial, called Speed Dial 2 Which is simply amazing. I really love how customizable this one in, and think I’ll spend most of the day getting it to look pretty

Now instead of picking a book or a movie, I’m going to change it a little and choose a show. Anyone who knows me should not be shocked by this. I was in junior high at the time (so I was about 13/14) and two of my best friends were spending the night at my house. I remember we were channel surfing and trying to find something to watch when we came across a specific show which both friends told me they loved. So we watched it.

I sat there watching this show and having never seen the show before, I was mesmerized. Terrified of course because I have never watched anything like this before, but I loved it. I remember my Dad ended up calling that night to chat with me for a bit and I went to take the call in my mother’s room since my friend’s were watching the TV show still. I also remember the light in the hallway (which is a rather large hallway) went out. So naturally, like any 13ish year old I ran to my moms room so fast. You know, just in case. After that day I began watching this show every week on Tuesday night until it finished in 2003, which was the year before I graduated high school. What show is this?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer of course! I used to relate to the show and it’s characters SO MUCH. For one hour each week nothing else mattered. I sat there happily in the living room watching this show and any worry or fear I had vanished. Buffy is still a show that I treasure to this day, it’s even what got me into the whole Sci-Fi and vampire thing (Twilight = a big ew no thanks but I do love me some True Blood!). To this day I still sometimes pop in one of the DVDs and watch the show, and still to this day it affects me just as it did back then.

One of my earliest memories is sorta a scary one, but at the time I wasn’t scared I more-so annoyed. I was around 3 and was big enough to sleep in a “big kid bed”. I remember at the time something kept interrupting my sleep to the point where I didn’t want to stay in my own bed anymore. I’d sometimes sleep in my parents bed but I also slept in my sister’s bed (she’s 10 years older than I am, so she would have been about 13 or so). I remember laying in her bed with her and seeing these two large and round black shadows in her window. I told her, she told our parents, and the police were called.

At that age I didn’t understand what was happening, but basically our neighbor’s boyfriend (at least that’s what my family thinks) was peeking into my window at night. The shadowy circles that I was seeing was him putting his hands around his eyes to see better. Of course at that age I was just annoyed that someone was at my window because he woke me up, but at my age now it could have turned into something really serious.

My family and I still talk about it sometimes and one thing my sister told me was that one night I wanted to sleep in her bed and she told me no. So I told her “Okay … I’m sure that mean guy won’t look inside your window anyways” which caused her to freak out and let me sleep in her bed I may have not understood what was going on, but I guess I understood enough to know that my sister was freaked out haha.

In other news, I’ve been out of work for about a month now and am trying to go back to work! I went on medical leave because over the last year I have been getting sick A LOT. Turns out there was a lot causing it, but I am on medicine now and have some more doctor appointments to go to. I am feeling a lot better now though. Doctor told me I had a UTI, a bug infection in my stomach, something up with my heart, low blood count, low iron count, and something is up with my eyes. Oi, I feel old now.

Anyways, I’ve been wanting to try to do another blog challenge (you know one of those 30 posts in 30 days) or a while now and decided I’d do it in April. The topic ideas are coming from Sarai, and her awesome topic list that she has. I’ll start it April 1st and if anyone else is interested let me know, I also made a topic on Snark about it

Had a great 26th birthday (thanks for the bday wishes)! and my awesome boyfriend bought me some gorgeous roses

Saw a beautiful sunset while in the car with my boyfriend. My iPhone did not do the sunset justice in this picture at all.

Again, January was a great month :D! And February has been just as great too! Excited to see what the rest of the year brings.
